A Beautiful Restaurant Gone Terribly Downhill – Mainland China

Food is directly connected to your emotions. A good meal leaves you feeling happy whereas, a bad meal leaves you feeling damp and sad. Normally, I am very critical about what I eat, however, there are times when even a person not critical about food would say this is simply bad! This was one such case and as important it is to write good reviews, sharing where to eat, it is important to share where not to eat.

Mainland China used to a beautiful restaurant serving some delicious, delectable food which would leave you wanting to come back for more. I have enjoyed several meals at their Cyber City Location, however, once they expanded to Sector-29 and Golf Course Road, I noticed a drop in the love and passion that was evident in their food before.

After a long time, I felt it was time to give this place another chance and ordered a meal at home. The delivery took a lot longer than it should have, specially since I am situated 5mins from the outlet.

The most important thing when you order from a fine dine restaurant is you expect quality. Thats a given! Sadly, the quality was a major letdown. The chicken did not taste fresh.

Our order included Chicken Drumsticks Honkong style, Jian’s Chilli Chicken, General Tao’s Chicken and Veg Hakka Noodles. The only saving grace in this entire meal was General Tao’s Chicken – the gravy. The chicken meatballs were gluggy and tasted weird.

It would be impossible for me to list the things wrong with each dish because first I would have to look at what was right! (Oh wait! They did have chilli in Jian’s Chilli Chicken)

When I have a bad experience at a restaurant I try to visit it once again to make sure it wasn’t just a bad day. However, in a case when the quality is bad and overall experience so terrible, I just can’t visit (or order-in) the place again.

So, there you go! My first appalling experience translated in words. A beautiful restaurant gone terribly downhill!
